Bejewelled with glittering stones from marauder's treasure, this is a garment fit for a queen and all pirates will bow down to her.
Materials: This is made by upcycling a vintage handmade Indian brocade tunic with such exquisite beading; I have never seen anything like it. The green silk satin fabric itself is embroidered with metallic threads which shimmer in the light, with gold sequins dotted here and there. Then gold embroidery and thousands of beads adorn the sleeves and the section of fabric I have sewn to the longest part of the hem. The weight of this makes the dark red chiffon swing majestically when you walk. NB There are slight signs of wear under the armpits where the embroidery has flattened slightly.
Ideas: The chiffon is see-through, so layer over bloomers whilst brandishing a sword for a steampunk pirate style. Or wear with a long floaty skirt and sandals for unique boho chic.
Extra care: This garment needs to be hand washed in warm water.
This is a fabulous item of clothing lovingly re-made by Oshun Creations. This means that as if by magic, unwanted clothes and fabric are transformed into new ones that are much much prettier! You can say they are recycled, reconstructed, revamped, but the fashionable new term is ‘upcycled’. I like to to call it re-loved and recreated! I don’t use patterns; developing each garment organically, so every outfit is completely unique , handmade and one of a kind. No-one else will own one like it! |
